Meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan with the representatives of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

Today, June 23, 2023, at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Amirzoda Abdukholik, was held a regular meeting of the National Coordinating Committee to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by members of the National Coordinating Committee, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, international and non-governmental organizations, including Mr. Davran Faizan, Portfolio Manager of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Ms. Natalya Manik, Sustainability, Transition and Co-financing Specialist of the Global Fund and Mr. Shepard Mufudzi, Public Health and M&E Specialist of the Global Fund.
During the meeting reports were heard from representatives of the Main Department for the Execution of Criminal Penalties of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the implementation of the National Program to Combat the Epidemic of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025”, report of the Republican Center for the Protection of the Population from Tuberculosis of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the implementation of the National Program for the Protection of the Population from Tuberculosis in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025”, as well as information from the United Nations Development Program on a new Global Fund grant to fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2026.
The meeting also approved the new composition of the Oversight Commission of the National Coordinating Committee.
As a result of the discussion of the agenda items, relevant decisions were made.
